Itinerary

Day 2

Siracusa Guided Tour

The old portion of the city is located on Ortygia Island, separated by a canal from the mainland. The city is a tourist center and a marketing center for agricultural products, particularly olive oil and citrus fruits. B D

 

Day 3

Taormina Guided Tour

Settled on a hill of the Monte Tauro, Taormina dominates two grand sweeping bays below and on the southern side, the top of Mount Etna often capped with snow, offering to the visitors a breathtaking view. B D

 

Day 4

Morning: Piazza Armerina Guided Tour

The town is mainly famous for its Roman mosaics in the Villa Romana del Casale. The medieval appearance of the city is manifest in some of its houses, which show Norman or Gothic architecture.

 

 

 

Afternoon: Agrigento Guided Tour

Agrigento is situated on Sicily's southern coast, and the town's Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest legacies of ancient Greece. B L D

 

Day 5

Morning: Visit to Cantina dell'Ulmo at Sambuca di Sicilia

Because of its particularly delightful setting and with its 16th century farmhouse, Ulmo is the most popular winery for guided visits and tastings. Since the summer of 2006 it is also possible to select and buy wine.

 

 

 

Afternoon: Monreale Abbey Tour

The Cathedral stand aloof on the edge of the historical centre of Monreale, a small town overlooking the Oreto River valley and the famous “Conca d’Oro”. B L D

 

Day 6

Palermo Guided Tour

 Fought over by Phoenicians, Arabs, Normans, Swabians and Spaniards, the city reflects the influence of all in its architecture, its people and its food, which, fruit-packed and spicy, is positively life-enhancing. B D
