Puglia is the heel of Italy's boot
- a long peninsular land that extends along the Adriatic
coast until it merges with the Ionian Sea. Apulia’s
sometimes gentle, sometimes rugged landscape yields amazing
grains, olive oils and wines that are sought by gourmands
around the world. And, with some of Italy's most interesting
architecture, from the astounding Trulli structures of
Alberobello to the fearless Norman forts that dot the
region, to the amazing Baroque cathedrals that grace the
piazzas of its oldest cities, Puglia abounds with the
treasures that a traveler craves. |

Lecce is
often referred to as the "Florence of the South."
Take note however, that Lecce has a style and grace all
her own and really, what really should be said is that
there is no Lecce of the north.

Alberobello Guided Tour
Alberobello
has become famous internationally because of its "Trulli",
cone shaped houses constructed in stone blocks known as
'chiancole'. The old town is

are of national importance and have been granted special
status by U.N.E.S.C.O. |

The Grotta di Castellana lies near the small town
