The Jasmine Riviera, named
after the perfumed jasmine flowers that are to be found in
abundance, covers the stretch of the coast on the Ionian Sea
from Brancaleone to Monasterace, in the province of Reggio
Calabria. There are
numerous events that take place at various times of the year
on the “Jasmine Riviera” : the
international jazz festival in Roccella, open air theatre,
concerts and evening of folklore. |

Goiosa Jonica, a typical village with an open-air
market offering local produce and then to
Mammola, famous
for its narrow streets, historic centre and
brilliant flower displays.

A half-day tour to
Gerace, called the “tiny
Florence” of Calabria for its
many churches, and a cathedral dating from
1045.

A visit to a
Siderno Antica, small ancient village, to see the
villagers’ way of life. We will visit private
homes and observe an
embroidery-making exhibit.

A full-day tour to
Reggio Calabria, the area’s
largest city. Our sightseeing
includes the surrounding area and a stop to
view the Bronzi di Riace at the National Museum.

A visit to
Locri, one of the oldest cities in southern
Italy. The site was
established by Greeks between 710 - 683 BC. A
small museum houses locally excavated artefacts
including Hellenic pottery and
statues.
