Perugia was among the most
important cities of the Etruscans.
The town dominates the Tiber Valley from a
high, irregular and rough hill: the particular
feature of the land has generated a wide variety of
urban situations, giving the town a very special
aspect.

Morning: Bevagna Guided Tour
The little walled city of
Bevagna is one of the most attractive places of
central Umbria, in the plain of the Topino River
about 8 km W of Foligno. Unusual for Umbria,
it is not a hill town, but is quite flat,
sitting in a shallow basin at the foot of the
northern end of the Colli Martani.
|
| |
 |
The town, which
enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding Umbrian
countryside, sits above the flood plain of the
Clitunno River on the steep lower skirts of Mount
Serano. Trevi
was originally ensconced in Roman walls and
fortifications erected during the 1st Century BC.
